Dr. Ayau is the founding and current President of the Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala City. He has been a member of the Legislative Assembly of Guatemala, a member of the Board of the Guatemalan Central Bank, of two commercial banks, and the Chamber of Industry, of which he was also Vice-President. He is a past President of the Mont Pelerin Society.
