An Exclusive (Virtual) Visit to the Ayn Rand Archives

Michael S. Berliner, Jeff Britting, Audra Hilse, Elan Journo

Presented at: ARI Roundtable

Date: Aug 07, 2021

Novelist. Philosopher. Cultural figure. Ayn Rand was a being of self-made soul, and the arc of her development is fascinating. Won’t you join us for an exclusive (virtual) glimpse into the world’s preeminent collection of materials documenting Rand’s life and work?

The Ayn Rand Archives is a vast trove of handwritten (and hand-edited) drafts of Ayn Rand’s most important works, plus hundreds of letters, extensive biographical interviews, personal artifacts, photographs, and more. This wide-ranging, comprehensive collection powerfully illuminates Rand’s life and ideas.

Today, we will host a first-of-its-kind ARI Member Roundtable, showcasing items from the Ayn Rand Archives, selected and presented by Dr. Michael S. Berliner, editor of Letters of Ayn Rand; Jeff Britting, ARI’s physical-analog archivist and author of Ayn Rand (Overlook Illustrated Lives); and Audra Hilse, ARI’s digital archivist. The presentation will include a Q&A session followed by hosted breakout rooms. (This Roundtable was originally scheduled for July 31.)
