Consciousness as Possessing Identity

Robert Garmong

Presented at: TOC 1994

Date: Oct 21, 1994

This paper focuses in depth on one aspect of logic: logic as the proper direction of your thinking. Most people are familiar with logic as a set of rules to judge an argument. In this sense, logic is an entirely conscious process of evaluation of a product of consciousness. However, logic applies first to creating ideas, understanding the world–i.e., thinking. Thinking means discovering the relationships among things in the world. It consists of connecting new data with old knowledge, seeing how the new fits with the old. Thinking means integrating.
