I Was a Teenage Socialist
Date:
Nov 03, 2017
Yaron Brook, chairman of the board of the Ayn Rand Institute, is well known as a radical for capitalism and a spokesman for ARI. But before he discovered Ayn Rand, he was a fervent socialist and ardent collectivist who saw both as necessary for a freer, better life for everyone. Join Dr. Brook as he talks about what initially drew him to socialism, how Rand’s ideas challenged him on all levels, and why he once angrily threw his copy of Atlas Shrugged across the room. He’ll also discuss what he learned from Rand about what a serious defense of freedom looks like and which historical figures he now draws inspiration from as great champions for liberty.
