Collectivism, Ayn Rand wrote, “holds that the individual has no rights, that his life and work belong to the group . . . and that the group may sacrifice him at its own whim to its own interests.” This talk explores the nature, extent and consequences of this doctrine in American health care, including in how the left and right think about health care issues, and illustrates the proper perspective on these issues: individualism.
