John Stuart Mill is the silent figure behind the destruction of 20th-century American culture. Mill transported the byzantine abstractions of Kantian philosophy into daily life-with deadly results. In this course, we shall analyze Mill's epistemological skepticism, ethical utilitarianism and political liberalism. We shall see how Mill's influence stands behind such disparate movements as: modern "complexity-worship" and the "cult of moral grayness," the socialistic left and the cowardly right, the war on free speech, multiculturalism and feminism. Very little material will be repeated from Mr. Garmong's lecture
The Philosophic Death of Free Speech.
