Regulation vs. Freedom in Health Care
Date:
Jul 05, 2013
In the last one hundred years, medicine has advanced by leaps and bounds, making it possible for us to live longer, healthier and happier lives. Recent developments include an artificial retina that gives sight to the blind and a brain implant that allows prosthetic limbs to be controlled by thought.
Yet another trend is apparent in medicine: the government’s progressively tighter control of its every aspect. This course explores the extent and nature of government intervention in the health care industry (pre- and post-Obamacare), traces the ideology behind the controls and identifies steps toward achieving freedom in medicine.
