The essential attributes of the experience of stress will be discussed (e.g., threat, uncertainty, need for action). Different approaches to coping with stress will be explained and compared (e.g., symptom alleviation, changing one's appraisal, taking action to remove the threat). Stress-prone and stress-resistant personalities will also be discussed.
