The Hierarchy of Knowledge

Gregory Salmieri

Presented at: OCON 2005

Date: Jul 02, 2005

A central tenet of the Objectivist epistemology is that knowledge is hierarchical. This class discusses Objectivism's position on this issue as well as the positions of a number of historical philosophers. About half of the class is devoted to a historical overview. Substantial attention is given to the question of where philosophical knowledge falls in the hierarchy of knowledge.
