The Madness of Joker

Leopold Ajami

Presented at: Virtual Seminars from ARI-Europe

Date: Apr 13, 2020

In the last years, few films have had the cultural impact of 'Joker'. This was partly due to how good the film was on the artistic level (especially Joaquin Phoenix's performance), and partly due to its dark themes. In this series of videos, Yaron Brook offers his view on the Joker phenomenon, and why the film's appeal is a worrying sign for our culture's sense of life.

These videos are a great warm-up for tomorrow, when in our 2nd European web-meetup we will be joined by Leopold Ajami of the Novel Philosophy Academy, who will explore the psychological themes in the film, and what they mean for one's search for happiness and meaning.
