The Vatican has released a major new encyclical from Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti. In it, Francis issues a call for "fraternity and friendship" but attacks the "virus" of "radical individualism." While "conservative" critics of the Pope have lamented his objections to global capitalism and private property, they fail to appreciate how his position is deeply consonant with the basic Christian worldview. In this podcast, we'll explore how the Pope's statement outlines a coherent worldview that stands in stark contrast to a this-worldly, rational philosophy upholding the individual's right to the pursuit of happiness.
