The Power of Errors in Childhood Education

Eric Daniels

Presented at: OCON 2016

Date: Jul 01, 2016

One of the most neglected but important aspects of childhood and adolescent education is the role of error and failure. High-stakes testing and politicized curricula have made success and the avoidance of error the sole aim of many educators. Using real life examples, this lecture explores why it is not only acceptable, but is actually imperative to nourish errors, mistakes and failure as a crucial step in cultivating student growth academically, socially and morally.
