The Powers of the Earth: America on the World Stage
Date:
Aug 10, 2002
This course presents a summary of both the academic discipline of International Relations and the formulation of American foreign policy by the political establishment. The relationship of the study of philosophy and history to international relations is reviewed, including the corrupting effects of modern historiography. An Objectivist view of the proper study of International Relations is proposed, as well as specific advice on how best to stay informed about world affairs and foreign policy issues. The course concludes with a brief survey of the history of American foreign policy, a global geopolitical survey including America's current relationship with "the powers of the earth" and the current world situation, including the "war on terrorism."
