Leonard Peikoff analyzes audience presentations of two key Objectivist principles: the evil of initiating force and the principle of individual rights. In analyzing these, Peikoff discusses the difference between summarizing and “chewing,” the right (and wrong) use of examples, the importance of playing the devil’s advocate, and the need for integration. Peikoff concludes by presenting his own understanding of the evil of initiating force and the validation of individual rights.
