This download includes two interviews bookending the 1964 presidential election between Barry Goldwater and Lyndon B. Johnson. The first interview, recorded just days before the election, features Rand's view on the candidates and advice on how to vote thoughtfully. The second, recorded the week after the election, offers Rand's analysis of the election and stresses that the groundwork for political freedom must be laid in the classroom, not the voting booth.
Here you will find some of Rand's views on:
- Vice President Hubert Humphrey
- The process of gradual repeal of regulations and controls
- Racism
- Party platforms
- The two-party system
- The conservative viewpoint
- Goldwater's denouncement of the Tennessee Valley Authority
- The future of the country
- Defending laissez faire capitalism
- The practice of "smearing" in politics
