Lt. Col. McDonald is a military professor at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, where he teaches Chinese strategic thought and communication. He previously served as an attaché at US missions in Australia and Taiwan, and as a strategic analyst in the Commandant of the Marine Corps' Strategic Initiatives Group in Washington, DC.
