Money and Freedom

Hans F. Sennholz

Presented at: TJS 1987

Date: Aug 02, 1987

Dr. Sennholz will show that the struggle for freedom of money is an essential part of the struggle for a free society. He will demonstrate that money with legal-tender power––money that is issued by politicians or bureaucrats and forced on people at face value––is an ominous restraint of individual rights and causes inflation and depressions and breeds social and political strife. A free society implies the termination of the government's money monopoly and legal tender coercion. It thus represents the establishment of sound money and banking, which are not impossible, but, for the present, merely illegal.
